Strategic meeting between AfDB and Central African States Development Bank17.04.2017
The meeting, which took place in Abidan, Ivory Coast, the headquarters of AfDB, on 12th April, also served for Ofa Mbo Nchama and Akinwumi Adasine to look at innovative mechanisms which must be implemented, in order to promote development in Africa in general, and for the subregion of central Africa, in particular.
This is the first meeting between Ofa Mbo Nchama and the leader of AfDB since he was appointed unanimously by the BDEAC shareholders, at the extraordinary session held in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), in March, under the presidency of the minister Miguel Engonga Eyang Obiang, replacing Abbas Mahamat Tolli, from Chad, appointed Governor of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), who in turn replaced Luchas Abaga Nchama.
In accordance with the principle of rotation within the six States making up the BDEAC: Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Gabon, Chad, and Central African Republic, the period for which Ofa Mbo Nchama will remain at the head will be five years, that is, until 2022.
The mission of BDEAC is to promote economic and social development in countries within the Economic Community of Central African States (CEMAC), including the financing of national development, and multinational and economic integration projects.
