H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo oversees Council of Ministers meeting

After a reading and approval of the minutes from the previous meeting, those present heard a synthesis report presented by the Prime Minister of the Government, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue and the draft decree agreeing to the legalisation of three new political parties, together with a draft law designating the first Sunday of April as National Prayer Day.

At this Council of Ministers meeting, which was also attended by the Vice-President of the Republic, Charged with Defence and National Security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, they also looked at a framework agreement for economic, cultural, scientific and technical cooperation, air transport; the creation of a Mixed Commission for Cooperation between the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Mali; the report on the upcoming C-10 Committee Summit; the reform of the United Nations Security Council, and the report on the negotiations for the entry of Equatorial Guinea as non-permanent member of the institution's Security council.

The Government also looked at the convention project between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, to prevent double taxation and tax evasion, and the report on the Annual Assembly of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, held in Washington, in the United States.

The consecration ceremony for three new archbishops, the proposals for an income ceiling for the various ministerial departments, and the justification report for the current account income for the months of January, February and March, were also on the agenda for this Council of Ministers meeting, which was for the first time attended by the new ministers fro Culture and Craft Promotion, and Youth and Sports, Rufino Ndong Esono Nchama and Cándido Nsue Okomo, respectively.

This is the first Council of Ministers meeting held since the State Tour made by the President of the Republic throughout the country.
