Equatoguinean Tennis Federation awarded at the ITF / CAT Assembly


At the General Assembly of the African Tennis Confederation (CAT), which was completed in Tunis, the Equatoguinean Federation of Tennis (FET) received an award for fruitful efforts and ambitious projects for the development of tennis in the country for the 2016-2020 period.

Equatoguinean Tennis Federation (FET) was represented by Vice President Oscar Garcia Berniko. FET for the first time since its creation took part in the work of the General Assembly of the African Tennis Confederation. CAT in its time welcomed the creation of a national federation and noted the transparency of the election of the FET president, Manuel Adolfo Etoho.
The tennis development plan in Equatorial Guinea consists of four main points:
1. Development of basic tennis in schools;
2. Creating a system of national competitions, at least five tournaments per year;
3. Preparation of national commands;
4. Training and retraining of coaches and athletes
The ambitious program of FET has impressed the participants of the assembly, who awarded the Equatoguinean Tennis Federation a prize, which was claimed by tennis federations from 36 African countries.
