President receives his counterpart from Central Africa during his visit to Malabo

Following delegations from the United Nations, Chad and Gabon, the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, received on 9th January a visit from his Central African counterpart, H. E. Faustin Archange Touadera, leading an important delegation.

The trip by Touadera was short, with the aim of expressing his solidarity and support for the people and institutions of the nation. The two leaders also exchanged opinions regarding diplomatic relations uniting their administrations.

After the meeting, the Equatoguinean party provided a lunch for members of the visiting delegation before they were seen off on the return journey to their country by the President of the Republic.

The two delegations also received in the People's Palace were from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Congo.

The Prince and Minister for Foreign Affairs from the Saudi royal house led the entourage sent by H. M. Salman Bin Abdulaziz to express his support for the Equatoguinean nation via a written message.

As members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), their single price and trade cooperation in the sector also featured in their conversations.

The delegation from the Republic of Congo was led by the Minister for Defence, Charles Richard Mondjo, who also delivered a message from H. E. Dennis Sassou Ngueso, addressed to H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, regarding the attempted coup of 24th December.

All the governments that have declared their support for the Republic of Equatorial Guinea coincide in urging the Equatoguinean Head of State to resolve this crisis in a peaceful manner, in order to continue with the programme of national development with respect to Horizonte 2020.
