Vice-President of the Republic attends investiture of new President of Sierra Leone


On this official visit, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue will attend the investiture of the new President of Sierra Leone, the opposition leader Julius Maada Bio, who won the presidential elections in April 2018.

The new President of Sierra Leone beat his rival, Samura Kamara, by a tight margin, with 51.81% of the votes against 48.9%, in a result which allowed the National Electoral Commission to announce the name of Julius Maada Bio as the winner.

In the presidential terminal of Malabo International Airport, the Vice-President of the Republic was seen off by the mayoress of Malabo, María Coloma Edjang Mbengono, the Prime Minster of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, and the Minister of State Charges with National Security, Nicolás Obama Nchama, among other authorities.
