Vice-President visits new international terminal at Malabo Airport


The Vice-President visited the facilities in order to get to know first hand the state of the work which began half way through 2015, and which is expected to end at the end of this year.

The new terminal has an are for international transit which will increase the operations of the airport, in addition to extending the new parking platform for aircraft, according to confirmed sources. It is designed to receive class F aircraft, such as the Airbus 380, with the latest technology for guaranteeing the safety and comfort of users.

Furthermore, the number of planes will depend on the operational plan determined by the managing company, as various platforms can be used simultaneously with the parking of planes at a distance. It is expected that the project will cover from 6 to 18 aircraft at peak times.

The new terminal has a building covering 45,560 square metres, and could have up to 612 parking places, 48 VIP places, and temporary parking areas.
