Head of State Meetings

The Extraordinary and Plenipotenciary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brasil, Evaldo Freire, opened this round of separate meetings carried out in presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Simeón Oyono Esono.

The treatment that the Equatorial Guinean Vice-President, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, received in the South American country was the centre of attention in this first meeting.

-I had an excellent conversation with the president regarding the treatment received by the Vice-President of Equatorial Guinea. This is a situation that really surprised us because our ministry has requested all protocol attentions that a Vice-President deserves in his own position from a fellow nation and brother such as Equatorial Guinea, and we are waiting for a positioning to officially inform the Equatorial Guinean government, stated the Brasilian ambassador before the press.

As regards the asset seizure, Evaldo Freire was harbouring hopes that everything will be resolved:what's happening at the moment is that we have a bureaucratic situation that is directly related to the events that ocurred and we have to wait for each one to take a stance on the subject regarding what ocurred to the Vice-President in the Federative Republic of Brasil", continued the ambassador.

S.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo subsequently received the Extraordinary and Plenipotenciary Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, TongCholHo.

During the meeting, the Head of State and Government congratulated his interlocutor on the 70th anniversary of the Asian country's foundation this month of September. Concurrently, the diplomat and Korean leader also expressed his congratulations to the Equatorial Guinean nation and government for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary as an independent nation.

The president's third meeting was held with the Chadian diplomat accredited in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Paul Ngaryana Djague Nahari, during which they discussed the possible presence of a Chadian government delegation headed by the President, S. E. Idris Deby Itno, during the celebration of the National Sovereignty festivity.
