Equatorial Guinea attends III International Cultural Exhibition on Silk Road

The summit began with speeches by senior Chinese authorities and senior leaders and representatives from UNESCO. During the event, the importance of the spirit of the road was recognised, not only from the trade point of view, but from the multiple implications that the transit of persons and objects from one continent to another implies. The road goes beyond material considerations, and transforms the exchange of customs, cuisine and ingredients, knowledge and literature into a cultural journey.

These exchanges are more relevant than ever in the world through tourism, promoting cohesion between peoples, and creating a platform of economic and cultural opportunities.

In that sense, the minister Esono Nchama stressed the importance of perfecting the mechanisms necessary for Equatorial Guinea to make the ancestral values of the Silk Road its own, and transform tourism into an economic and cultural reality, providing continuity of progress and well-being to our country and its inhabitants.
