Equatorial Guinea participated in the Francophonie Summit in Yerevan

The delegation of Equatorial Guinea returned from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, where the summit of the International Organization for the Cooperation of the French-speaking Countries of the World (Francophony) was held on October 11-12.

The Equatorial Guinean delegation, led by Juan Noel Nsue Ondo, the Secretary of State for Ceremonies and Translations, took part in all the activities of the summit, including the election of the Secretary General. For the next four years, Louise Mushikiwabo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda, will be the Secretary General of Francophone, replacing the Canadian Michaël Jeane.
French President Emmanuel Macron earlier expressed support for the candidacy of Louise Mushikivabo, which was surprising in the context of the rather tense relations between the two countries. The candidacy of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda, Louise Mushikivabo, was also supported by the African Union.
