Head of State Inaugurated Cement Plant in Bata


President of Equatorial Guinea Obiang Nguema Mbasogo inaugurated a new cement plant in Bata yesterday. This is a private project of the national company Grupo Evita. The factory consists of three workshops, more precisely robotized lines, mounted in accordance with world technological standards and has a production capacity of 15 tons per hour. The raw materials are limestone and sand, which are found throughout the country, as well as Portland cement produced by the national Abayak company.

From the technical report submitted by the Minister of Industry and Energy Miguel Ekua Ondo it follows that the construction and installation of equipment took 24 months, the amount of financing is about 4,800,000 CFA francs.
Speaking at the ceremony, the promoter of the project, Onorato Evita Oma, said that Grupo Evita began as a company producing tiles, paints and cement. The current project is part of a number of large-scale contracts, and specialists - graduates of the National University of Equatorial Guinea and several technical universities in Spain took part in its implementation.
President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who cut the red ribbon, congratulated Onorato Evita Omah on completing the project, stressing that the Grupo Evita initiative is a real step towards economic diversification and should serve as an example to other national companies.
